I’m Rhys Campbell, a Youth Worker and Visual Arts Worker living in the Scottish Highlands.
I started Youth Work straight out of school; this is where I began experimenting with digital photography, filmmaking, and live projection with young people.
I started my freelance career when I phoned Eden Court Theatre box office asking to speak to a ‘Groger’, much to the operator’s amusement, then finally I got hold of Graeme Roger. I wanted to borrow a camera for an amateur production. One camera, three days, and a film later – I was offered a Freelance Assistant role at Eden Court, working with Young People in their film classes.
During COVID, I was forced, like most people, to re-focus my energy on other things. Photography on my daily walks became a real passion, and not long after the lockdowns, I joined The Inverness Darkroom, where I now sit on the committee.
If you have any ideas or projects you'd like me to get involved with please feel free to contact me through social media, Email, or the form and I will get back in touch as soon as possible.
